Tropical Storm Harvey forces J.D. Byrider King of Compacts to postpone until September 15th, 2017

After much consideration, and the anticipation of remnants from Tropical Storm Harvey making its’ way to the Midwest, The DRC and Route 44 Speedway have made the decision to postpone The King of Compacts race. While this was a difficult decision to make, we feel that it is in the best interest of the racers travelling to support the event. The makeup date for the race will be September 15th. Race promoter, Jody Shannon, had the following to say, “I really hate that we had to do this. The forecast was looking worse and worse, and we had racers coming from 5 and 6 hours away that were really worried about towing that far. This race was designed for the working man and woman, and it was cool to have it on labor day weekend, but I wanted everyone to have the chance to come and enjoy the show. The staff at Route 44 Speedway was gracious enough to work with us and find a date that allowed us to put this show on for the racers and fans. Hopefully everyone comes out and supports the race and track on the 15th of September.”
